CHASM engages with ideas of discovery and curiosity, drawing conceptual inspiration from an encounter with an all-black monochromatic building in Atlanta, Georgia. Boarded up, abandoned and visually impenetrable, the structure offered no clues to its interior or possible histories and functions. By using slight shifts in dark hues, Chasm evokes the tension between concealment and revelation to examine how the unknown can activate the imagination.
