PEARL's color pallet references the history of material through images of Miami’s 1400 Biscayne Center demolition (shot by Simmons in February 2023). The colors were pulled from the piles of discarded debris left on the site during demolition. The title "PEARL" is symbolic of discoveries found in his grandmother's jewelry box of old worn, faded and tangled jewelry (debris). Though seemingly worthless, each piece held a memory of her past.
